Scotland's Doubletree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro
Welcomes David Jamieson as Head Chef

DUNBLANE, Scotland – 23 October 2012
– Doubletree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro has welcomed new senior member, David Jamieson, to the hotel’s renowned hospitality team.

Jamieson will take up the role of head chef at the hotel’s signature restaurant, The Kailyard by Nick Nairn and oversee the day to day running of the hotel’s kitchen as well as being responsible for the training of commis chefs and apprentices.

Announcing the appointment, Robert Glashan, general manager at Doubletree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro, said, “We are delighted to welcome David to the hotel in his new role as head chef. His previous experience, enthusiasm and aptitude means he will be a great addition to the food and beverage team here at the hotel.”

With eighteen years of experience in the industry, Jamieson joins the team having previously held similar roles at Glasgow’s Thistle Hotel and the Erskine Bridge Hotel. Jamieson has also been involved with the Future Chef programme which aims to nurture and develop culinary skills in young people.

Speaking of his new role, Jamieson said, “I’m excited to be joining the Doubletree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro and I can’t wait to start working with a fantastic team. As well as overseeing kitchen operations, I am thrilled to be involved in training new chefs as I am passionate about encouraging youngsters to enter this thriving industry.”

Jamieson was inspired to pursue a culinary career by his grandmother, who got him involved in cooking and baking from a young age, and has since been enthusiastic about advocating the benefits of healthy eating and cooking to young people.
