St. Lucia Resort, The BodyHoliday, Welcomes
Stephen Husbands as General Manager

December 21, 2012 - The BodyHoliday, St. Lucia, is delighted to announce that Stephen Husbands has joined the resort as General Manager. Stephen brings a wealth of experience to the team, having held a number of senior posts in the international hospitality sector.

Craig Barnard, Founder of The BodyHoliday commented: ‘We are delighted to have Stephen onboard.  His reputation of bringing out the best in his teams while focusing on improving efficiency through effective policies and systems precedes him.  This coupled with his in-depth knowledge of the Caribbean, as well as a love for sport, makes him the perfect choice.

Stephen said of his appointment: ‘I am thrilled to be back in the Caribbean, working for a resort that I have long admired from afar.  I grew up in neighbouring Barbados, so it is very special for me to be back, using the knowledge I have built up from my various roles abroad.’

Before joining The BodyHoliday, Stephen worked for Golden Tulip Hotels & Resorts for over four years, in various positions from General Manager to Financial Controller and then VP Finance & Operations for West Africa.  He also held a number of posts in the UK, with Intercontinental Hotels for six years as a Financial Controller for three of their key properties, as well as for Jury Inn, Audley’s Wood Hotel and Grosvenor House, Park Lane in financial and operations-based roles.

Situated on a private cove in the northwest tip of St. Lucia, The BodyHoliday provides a luxurious and relaxing getaway experience in an idyllic setting.  Owned and managed by the Barnard family, the 154-room all-inclusive wellness resort sits directly on Cariblue’s crescent beach and is surrounded by 42 acres of lush tropical gardens. The BodyHoliday is a five star resort that has become synonymous with health and well-being the world over.

The BodyHoliday offers unparalleled services and amenities including: a 30,000 square-foot wellness centre, five unique food and beverage venues (including the award-winning TAO, named as a Condé Nast Traveler “Hot Table”), scuba school, tennis and golf academies, archery, fencing, T’ai Chi, yoga, pilates, an array of watersports and recreational activities, and personalized “lifestyle consultation” services.

The BodyHoliday reopened in October 2011 following a $20 million makeover and is the leading hotel in St. Lucia to escape the rigors of everyday life. The BodyHoliday will re-open in late-September 2011.  To book a future reservation, or for additional information, please visit or call 1-800-544-2883.
