Martha Hampton Appointed as General Manager of Casa San Agustin,
a 31-key Boutique Hotel in Cartagena, Colombia

New York, NY March 2, 2012
– Martha Hampton has been appointed as General Manager of Casa San Agustín , a new luxury boutique hotel making its debut following a complete renovation in Spring 2012. Originally from Colombia, Hampton brings a passion to the alluring destination of Cartagena de Indias, and this enthusiasm merges well into her new position.  Martha Hampton will take the lead in setting an enduring standard for the property, bringing 16 years of hotel general management experience to Casa San Agustín.  Casa San Agustín will resonate with true luxury and authentic sophistication – which is exactly what Hampton represents.  She’ll deliver gracious hospitality throughout the hotel and its 22 rooms and 9 suites, ensuring attention in their refined details.

Prior to Hampton’s appointment at Casa San Agustín, she has worked for distinguished and premier luxury boutique properties.  She was part of the opening team, and continued on as GM at the prestigious Casa Tua in Miami Beach.  Thereafter, she was as an independent consultant for Casa Casuarina, formerly the Versace Mansion, where she further honed in experience in the luxury market.  Part of Hampton’s hospitality career track includes managing the all-suite, Casa Grande Hotel in Miami, and she also held the title, Director of Operations and Owner’s Relations at the luxurious Santa Maria Condominium.  Here, she worked directly with the sales and marketing department, and was instrumental in developing the sales approach for the 170 plus luxury units.  Hampton has acquired experience in all facets of hotel operations growing professionally in her different roles from Front Desk Agent to Housekeeping Supervisor, and from Room Divisions Director to her several General Manager positions.  Well acquainted with operations in the pre and post opening phases to growing a brand’s clientele, Hampton is a natural leader.

Casa San Agustín is a luxury boutique property of 22 beautifully crafted rooms and 9 spacious suites located in the alluring port city of Cartagena, where historic charm meets contemporary Colombian life.  Architecturally captivating, the hotel preserves the remnants of an aqueduct with 3 white-washed, colonial buildings. Upon stepping through the wooden doorway, an authentic Cartagenian style flows into the interiors.  Rooms and public spaces are designed with individuality, and artisan tiles and ironwork can be found throughout.  Dark wood furnishings, deeply saturated accents influenced from a color palette found in the city, and a selection of woven, natural textures are balanced with pure whites, deep blues and greens that are reflective of the sea.  As ceilings soar to more than 25 feet/6 meters, light floods the interiors through arched windows.  Balconies in addition to patios with plunge pools and Jacuzzis lend a surprise amenity in a selection of the rooms and suites.  Alma Restaurant provides a sophisticated bar and lounge for guests to mingle over cocktails and tapas. In the dining room or in the courtyard alfresco, guests can also savor the traditional Colombian menu that incorporates indigenous fruits and vegetables, freshly caught seafood, and succulent pork and beef seasoned with Latin flavors.  Casa San Agustín – Simply Elegant and Uniquely Authentic.
