Georgia's Destination Resort, Sea Island, Names Alex Gregory as Director
of Sales and Marketing and James Gibson as Director of Operations

Sea Island, Georgia (March 19, 2012) – Sea Island announced today two new additions to its executive team: Director of Sales and Marketing, Alex Gregory and Director of Operations, James Gibson.

In his new role as Director of Sales and Marketing, Gregory will be responsible for assisting in the development and execution of Sea Island’s sales and marketing plans and leading all sales activities throughout the resort.

Prior to his position with Sea Island, Gregory spent three years at the Royal Palms Resort and Spa in Phoenix, Arizona, as the Director of Sales and Marketing. His extensive work in the hospitality sector is augmented by professional affiliations, including his role as Chairman of the HSMAI Resort Marketing Council since 2008. With more than 18 years working in luxury properties, Gregory will bring his experience leveraging technology, trends, data and business intelligence to maximize successful sales efforts of Sea Island.

Sea Island is also pleased to announce the appointment of James Gibson as Director of Operations.  With 30 years of experience in the luxury hospitality industry, Gibson will be tasked with providing direction and leadership to resort departments, fostering a welcoming and caring environment for members and guests, as well as providing guidance and career development tools to employees.

Most recently, Gibson served as Hotel Manager of the Trump SoHo in New York City; before that, he was Managing Director at The Residences at Biltmore in North Carolina, Hotel Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Spa and Casino in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and spent eleven years with Hyatt Hotels. A British citizen born in Zambia, Africa and raised in England, Gibson’s history with global luxury brands and boutique properties makes him uniquely qualified to oversee the daily operations of Sea Island.
