News for the Hospitality Executive
Springfield, Ore. — August 18, 2011 — The Hotel Group (THG) welcomed city officials, including Springfield Mayor Christine Lundberg, to the ribbon-cutting ceremony of its managed Hilton Garden Inn Eugene/Springfield, located at 3528 Gateway Street in Springfield, Ore. The event, held on August 11, introduced local businesses and the community to the new 149-room property. Dan Eagan, Executive Director of the Springfield Chamber of Commerce, also attended the event.
"Springfield is proud to welcome the new Hilton Garden Inn and pleased that it is prominently located at the entrance to our city," Mayor Lundberg said. "I look forward to a long and successful relationship as the Hilton Garden Inn becomes part of Springfield’s bright future." Eugene Mayor Kitty Piercy echoed Mayor Lundberg's sentiments: “Eugene is a vital and recognized community that draws national and international visitors. With downtown development, the Olympic Trials, Matt Court, the Bach Festival, and much more, we need and welcome a first-rate hotel like the Hilton Garden Inn to our area.”
Josh Messer, the property’s General Manager, said he is equally delighted to introduce this property to Eugene and Springfield. "We would like to thank Mayors Lundberg and Piercy and the Eugene and Springfield Chambers of Commerce for their ongoing support throughout our construction process," Messer said. "We look forward to working hand-in-hand with them to introduce business and leisure travelers to our hotel. Attendees of the grand opening event were shown our airy Pavilion lobby and comfortable guestrooms, and they experienced our friendly staff and convenient guest services, including The Great American Grill® restaurant -- which serves a full cooked-to-order breakfast, including the brand's signature waffle, plus cocktails, dinner and room service. We invite everyone coming to the Eugene/Springfield area to experience what the Hilton Garden Inn Eugene/Springfield has to offer.”
