Host Hotels & Resorts Promotes Tim Marvin to Managing Director, Americas and
Appoints Rogerio Miranda de Souza as Senior Vice President, Acquisitions Brazil

BETHESDA, Md., Aug. 30, 2011- Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: HST) today announces the promotion of Tim Marvin to managing director, Americas and the appointment of Rogerio Miranda de Souza as senior vice president, acquisitions, Brazil.

Mr. Marvin joined Host in September 2010 as senior vice president, acquisitions and, during his short tenure, has led company efforts to explore opportunities in Latin America and made valuable contributions to our acquisition efforts in the United States. In addition to continuing Host's expansion in Latin America, Mr. Marvin will oversee Host's new Brazil office, managed by Mr. Miranda de Souza, and will lead the acquisitions team in North America. He will continue to report to Jim Risoleo, executive vice president and chief investment officer.

The company also announces the appointment of Rogerio Miranda de Souza as senior vice president, acquisitions, Brazil. Mr. Miranda de Souza joins Host from Brazil Hospitality Group, where he directed mergers and acquisitions and investor relations and led development of new hotel ventures. At Host, Mr. Miranda de Souza will lead efforts in-region, targeting investments in luxury, upper-upscale and mid-market hotels throughout Latin America as well as the development of mid-market and economic hotels in prime locations throughout Brazil. He will report to Tim Marvin, managing director, Americas.

Mr. Marvin is based at Host's headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland and Mr. Miranda de Souza will be based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
