named Martein van
Wagenberg, a highly accomplished
hotelier with worldwide experience in operating leading luxury
properties,
managing director of the Five Diamond resort.
Mr. van Wagenberg, who comes to Las Ventanas with more than 26 years of hospitality experience, has been part of the Rosewood family since October 2004 as managing director of Rosewood Little Dix Bay in Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands. “A key to a successful resort is finding the right managing director who brings everything to the table, and Martein is the perfect fit for Las Ventanas,” said Bob Boulogne, Chief Operating Officer of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts. “With his vast experience and intimate understanding of the Rosewood philosophy, Martein will not just continue but build upon Las Ventanas’ extraordinary success.” Historic Little Dix, originally developed in 1964 by Laurance Rockefeller, enjoyed worldwide acclaim for its exceptional service and guest experience during the years Mr. van Wagenberg was managing director. Prior to Little Dix, for eight years he was general manager of Grace Bay Club in Providenciales, Turks & Caicos, where he developed the young property into an internationally recognized Five-Star resort. He began his career in Europe, holding management positions of increasing responsibility at The Hyatt in Nice, France, The Grosvenor House and Hyde Park Hotel in London and The Grand Hotel in Amsterdam. He was educated at the Hotel Management School in Maastricht, Netherlands and the premier U.S. hotelier program at Cornell University in New York.
