News for the Hospitality Executive |
AUSTIN, TEXAS, USA (January 21, 2011) – Recognizing the growing demands of the hospitality professional and their need to develop new skill sets, Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) is once again hosting the HFTP Development Conference. The conference, held March 14-15 at the Green Valley Ranch Resort in Las Vegas, Nev., offers quality education and networking that emphasizes technology, human resources and leadership development. The 2010 HFTP Compensation & Benefits Survey showed that hospitality professionals now oversee a variety of departments, including technology (59 percent), human resources (40 percent) and administration (23 percent). Based on this knowledge and another survey of hospitality professionals that looked at their current job responsibilities, HFTP developed an education program that is designed to meet expanding job roles. Topics include the reality of human resources, providing superior customer service, technology tools that can save time and money, cloud computing and more. The conference also includes keynote speaker Sarita Maybin discussing how to adapt, succeed and thrive in the workplace. "When it comes to adapting to change and challenges, I learned early on that we can run but we can't hide," said Maybin. "Whether we embrace it or not, the need to handle new situations is a reality that we must face. We can achieve more positive results if we arm ourselves with the necessary skills." Registration and housing for the HFTP Development Conference is now available online.
