The Woodlands (Houston), Texas, December 2010 … Benchmark Hospitality International, a leading US-based hospitality management company, has appointed Rebecca Madan Kollaras regional director of public relations.  Ms. Kollaras will be responsible for and oversee the public relations programming for Benchmark’s Florida Collection, including Costa d’Este Beach Resort in Vero Beach, Marenas Resort in Sunny Isles Beach (North Miami), Naples Bay Resort in Naples, and the Villas of Grand Cypress in Orlando.  John Davies, vice president marketing, made the announcement.
 
“Rebecca brings extensive public relations and marketing communications experience within the Florida market and regionally to our Florida resorts,” said Mr. Davies.  “Based in the Miami area for many years, she knows the state intimately and understands the unique aspects of travel to and within Florida, and is a welcome addition to our public relations team.”
 
Previous to joining Benchmark Hospitality International, Rebecca Kollaras operated her own boutique public relations firm, Kollaras Communications, specializing in travel with clients in Florida and the Northeast.  Prior to launching her firm, Ms. Kollaras was vice president for BlueSky Public Relations, focusing on off-shore clients within the Caribbean and Bermuda, as well as travel-related brands. 
 
Rebecca Kollaras attended Loyola University, and is a graduate of Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida, where she earned her Bachelors of Arts degree in English and Professional Writing.  Ms. Kollaras is a member of the Society of American Travel Writers, the Public Relations Society of America and the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International.  She is active in a number of charitable organizations, including the Diabetes Research Association.  Ms. Kollaras resides in Miami Shores.
