Sundstrom and Svitak bring more than 50 years of combined experience to their positions at the Grand Geneva and collaborate to ensure that the AAA Four Diamond resort maintains its prominent reputation as one of the premier vacation destinations in the Midwest.
 
Managing Director Brett Sundstrom
Sundstrom joined Marcus Hotels and Resorts in 2008, when he started as the general manager of the Xona Resort Suites in Scottsdale, Ariz. In his role as managing director of the Grand Geneva, he supervises more than 1,200 associates and ensures efficient operations of the resort�s various divisions, which range from ski and spa to dining and meetings. Prior to his tenure with Marcus Hotels, Sundstrom served as general manager both for the Adam�s Mark Tulsa and the Four Diamond Doubletree Hotel Tulsa at Warren Place in Tulsa, Okla. A graduate of Oklahoma State University, Sundstrom began his career in the hospitality industry by working with Outrigger Lodging Services at luxury hotels that included Le Parc Suite Hotel in West Hollywood and Poco Diablo Resort in Sedona, Ariz., among others.
 
Director of Sales and Marketing Ed Svitak
A graduate of Northern Arizona University, Svitak comes to the Grand Geneva after holding senior-level sales and marketing positions at prestigious resorts and hotels across the country, including a 13-year role as the vice president of sales and marketing at the Riviera Resort in Palm Springs. In his new position, Svitak now oversees the sales and marketing operations for the Grand Geneva and Timber Ridge Lodge and Waterpark. His main responsibilities include increasing revenue while streamlining operations at each of the venues. Most recently, Svitak served as the director of sales and marketing for the historic Ambassador East Hotel in Chicago�s Gold Coast neighborhood. Throughout his career, he has also directed the sales and marketing efforts for various hotels owned by White Lodging in Chicago, as well as for properties in Southern California under the direction of the Marriott Corporation.
