The Magnolia Hotel Omaha Appoints James Finnegan as General Manager

Nov. 30, 2009 (OMAHA)—The Magnolia Hotel Omaha today announced James M. Finnegan has been named general manager for the 146-room boutique hotel, located in the heart of downtown Omaha.

“James Finnegan’s strong familiarity with the Omaha market and extensive hospitality background will undoubtedly be an asset to The Magnolia. We’re excited for James to oversee the hotel’s operations,” said Leigh Hitz, president of Magnolia Hotels.

Finnegan brings to The Magnolia 18 years of hospitality management experience. His background includes working for Bartell Hotels in San Diego, Calif., for 11 years, serving in a general manager role for the Island Palms Hotel & Marina and the Best Western Bell Hotel. He also has served as the general manager for Providence Hospitality Partners in Denver, where he was the opening general manager for the upscale The Inn at Cherry Creek, and as a district manager for Best Western International in Phoenix, Ariz.  Most recently, Finnegan served as area general manager for LQ Management, LLC in Omaha, overseeing operations of two La Quinta hotels in the Omaha market.

Finnegan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Creighton University in Omaha. He is a Certified Hospitality Administrator from the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Lodging Association.
