CHICAGO, IL April 17, 2008    Flyte Systems, the leading provider of airport travel information displays and digital signage content for the hospitality, digital signage, convention centers and related businesses, announced it successfully installed its FlyteBoard real-time airline flight information display and FlytePass boarding pass printing kiosk at the Four-Diamond-rated Eaglewood Resort & Spa in Itasca, Illinois.

The FlyteBoard and FlytePass systems provide guests with real-time flight information that is critical to their travel plans, said Jeff Wardlaw, Eaglewood Resorts director of rooms. We installed Flyte Systems in February and were impressed by how many people use the services to print boarding passes to save time at the airport, or check if their flights at OHare International are on time.  This is particularly valuable during sever winter weather.  The Flyte Systems units are located outside Eaglewood Resorts Technology Center conference facilities where attendees can quickly check their flight status information or print boarding passes.  Wardlaw stated that when flights are delayed guests often stay on property, enhancing his ROI by utilizing the resorts food and beverage outlets.

Conference coordinators at Eaglewood also use the Flyte Systems solutions to enhance their service levels.  They collect their attendees flight information and use the FlytePass kiosk to print out boarding passes.  It is a welcome, personal service that saves attendees the time of having to do it themselves.  Based on the success of Flytes services, Wardlaw said Eaglewood may add travel information from other area airports in the near future.

Flyte Systems products utilize a propertys existing high-speed Internet connection, so installation is a simple process.  Wardlaw said, During the Flyte Systems installation, everyone from the President to the techs and salesperson, were involved and dedicated to ensuring the best possible service.  It was a great experience for us as well as for our guests.

Real-time Flight Information

FlyteBoard, developed by Flyte Systems, is a wall, floor or ceiling mounted high-definition, flat panel screen which properties install in public areas to provide guests with convenient glance-and-go airline flight information for more confident travel planning.  What sets Flyte Systems apart from other PC-based applications is its ability to post accurate, real-time airline flight arrival and departure information, not FAA-regulated scheduled departure times that do not list delays caused by:

  • Air Traffic Control
  • Aircraft maintenance
  • Crew availability
  • Weather
Flyte Systems offers a suite of products that serve the traveling public:  FlyteTouch, FlytePass, FlyteChannel and FlyteBoard.
  • FlyteTouch enables individual guests to search flight information via touch screens that display real-time flight arrivals and departures for one or more airports.
  • FlytePass uses FlyteTouch technology and adds free, secure boarding pass printing, packaged in an all-wood kiosk.
  • FlyteChannel permits guests to view live airport arrival/departure screens via their in-room TV.
  • FlyteBoard is a wall, floor or ceiling mounted high-definition, flat panel screen for lobbies, restaurants, bars and other public areas, displaying flight information for one or more airports.
The Eaglewood Resort & Spa is the only fully certified International Association of Conference Center (IACC) property in the Midwest with a 10,000-square-foot Recreation Center and six-lane Bowling Alley.  More than 75 percent of the propertys guests are conference attendees.  Eaglewood provides 37,000-square-feet of conference space, luxurious guest room accommodations, championship golf course and top-rated spa facilities.

Many properties use Flyte Systems applications to increase revenue with innovative marketing approaches to the distressed traveler.  For tips on how to generate revenue by providing guests with Flyte Systems airline information, please log on to the Flyte Systems website at www.flytesystems.com.
