Destination Hotels & Resorts Taps Jonathan Baz to Head Up
Food and Beverage Operations at The Inverness Hotel
and Conference Center

Former Ritz Carlton F&B director brings a wealth of best practices and proven techniques that sizzle

DENVER, Colo., June 14, 2007 – George Fischer, Managing Director for Destination Hotels & Resorts’ The Inverness Hotel and Conference Center, appointed Jonathan Baz to Director of Food and Beverage. Baz brings nearly 30 years of hands-on hotel experience in all phases of the Food and Beverage department. With five distinct dining venues, conference and banquet services, in-room dining, and outdoor poolside service, Baz takes the reigns of a multi-faceted department poised for change and continued growth. Plans are already in motion to introduce a fresh approach that will deliver a bounty of rich and flavorful reasons for guests and area residents to indulge in the culinary delights of The Inverness Hotel and Conference Center.

Baz hopes to accomplish his goals by introducing a medley of new initiatives and heightened service standards artfully intertwined to provide a delicious dining experience. New initiatives will range from instilling service culture, culinary events and tastings to themed menu concepts, cooking classes and signature chef creations. At the heart of Baz’s plans for The Inverness Hotel, is a meticulous plan focused on perfectly executed service and attention to presentation.

“Great food combined with great service is an undeniable recipe for success,” said Baz. “The Inverness Hotel has all the right ingredients to appease even the most discerning palate.  My undertaking is to train staff on the finer details of personal service and weave everything together to help foster one of southern Denver’s finest dining venues.”

As Director of Food and Beverage, Baz will provide break-through leadership to take the levels of service and food and beverage offerings to the next level.  He will oversee all existing food and beverage service partnerships, hotel initiatives and external marketing efforts as it relates to food and beverage.

“Jonathan brings the passion, proven track record and personal drive needed to take our Food and Beverage department to new heights,” said George Fischer. “Hotels often become complacent with practices that deliver and it’s often difficult to move beyond that comfort zone. With Jonathan at the helm, I’m looking for him to stir things up and inspire the hotel to be an urban destination of choice for extraordinary cuisine and impeccable service.”

Prior to joining The Inverness Hotel, Baz served as director of operations at the Ritz Carlton members Beach Cub Sarasota, Florida, a Five-Diamond AAA property. In this capacity, Baz managed and coordinated all department initiatives ranging from financial budget and forecasting to culinary development, staffing guidelines, and menu concepts. During his tenure, Baz worked at several five and four AAA Diamond establishments including the Grand Cypres Resort Orlando, Portofino Bay Hotel Orlando and The Peabody Hotel Orlando to highlight a few. One of his most notable achievements included serving as Director of Restaurants and Lounges at the AAA Five Diamond The Mayflower in Washington, D.C. In this capacity, he served elite public officials and Heads of States during the Carter, Reagan and George Bush Sr. presidential terms.

Outside of the office, Baz is familiarizing himself with Colorado’s vast outdoor splendor and many great restaurants. He recently relocated from Florida and enjoys basketball, football, food, wine and a passion for teaching.
