NEW YORK (May 24, 2005) � InterContinental The Barclay New York has
named Raymond Vermolen Hotel Manager. In this position, Vermolen
is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the 686-room hotel
in midtown Manhattan, one of InterContinental�s flagship properties in
the United States. He was most recently the Food & Beverage Director
of the InterContinental Phoenicia Beirut, in Lebanon where he launched
an Asian multi concept restaurant, Wok Wok.
Vermolen has spent his career with InterContinental Hotels & Resorts.
Prior to his tenure at the InterContinental Phoenicia Beirut, he was the
Food & Beverage Manager for the InterContinental Hotel Group Alexandria
in Egypt, the Food & Beverage Manager at the InterContinental Vendome
Beirut in Lebanon and Assistant Food & Beverage Manager at the InterContinental
Athenaeum Athens in Greece. He has also held positions at the Le
Grand InterContinental in Paris and InterContinental Amstel Hotel, Amsterdam.
Vermolen holds a Masters in Business Administration from Henley Management
College in London, earned a Bachelors degree in the Hospitality Industry
from the Hotel Management School in the Netherlands and a degree in Hotel
Catering and Managerial Accounting from the H.N.D Cardiff Institute of
Higher Education in Wales.
