Two IMHI MBA Students Receive Scholarships
from Disneyland Resort Paris

Cergy Pontoise/Paris, France (February 2, 2005) – For the fourth year running, Disneyland Resort Paris has awarded two scholarships to students of the IMHI MBA in International Hospitality Management.  They have been awarded to and Kashyap Gohil, 26, from Indian, and Saurabh Sachdev, 25, also from India.

The Scholarships, covering 50% of tuition fees and worth over 25,000 euros, are offered each year as part of a joint partnership agreement between the Institut de Management Hôtelier International – IMHI - and Disneyland Resort Paris.  Students are selected for the Scholarships based on their academic ability, their personal qualities and their potential to become future leaders in the international hospitality sector.

The IMHI – ESSEC MBA is specialised in international hospitality management.  The program is widely recognised by industry as Europe’s leading hospitality MBA, and is consistently ranked first among tourism / hospitality degrees in France. All MBAs at ESSEC have been accredited by the AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business and EQUIS - European Quality Improvement System.

Disneyland Resort Paris is recognised as the number one tourist destination in Europe, and is committed to both developing people and to education.  The aim of the Disneyland Resort Paris Scholarship, as that of the partnership, is not to train “Disney-style” managers, but rather to contribute to the development of the future leaders in the world of tourism and leisure that these students are aiming to become.

“The renewal of our partnership agreement with IMHI for the next 3 years,” said  Mr. Karl L. Holz, President and Chief Operating Officer for Disneyland Resort Paris,“ underlines our confidence in this institution, which represent for us a reference in high-level education within our industry.”

“After 4 years of a strong partnership, it is always a great pleasure for Disneyland Resort Paris to financially support two deserving IMHI students through these awards, ” continued Mr. Holz. “We have full confidence in their capacity to pursue challenging studies and have successful careers.”

Both students were of course delighted to have been selected for this prestigious Award. “This Scholarship is an extremely generous gesture and enables me to finance my studies at one the best international hospitality courses in the world,” said scholarship winner, Kashyap Gohil,. “Just as importantly, we also get an outstanding opportunity to meet key executives at Disneyland Resort Paris and to get a peek at the organisation from the inside – something every hospitality major can dream about.”

“During the two years of work that I did in India the savings which I was allowed to do represent a very small fraction of the funds that I require to finish my MBA at IMHI, so I was mainly depending on the family resources till now for this purpose” added Saurabb Sachdev.  The Disneyland scholarship has not only reduced the burden on my family but also given me an opportunity to understand and network closely with a highly competent hospitality organisation.”
