We are currently assessing the aftermath of Hurricane Jeanne but can report that no structural damage was experienced anywhere on the resort.  The buildings appear to be in very good form and all the public areas of the hotel, including the main lobby and ballrooms, are in excellent condition.  In addition, the property did not experience any storm surge or flooding, therefore none of the damage was caused by seawater.  We have retained one of the nation's leading professional companies that specializes in post-hurricane remediation to clean, restore, and refresh our property. 

As with Hurricane Frances, we have made a commitment to our guests and employees that we will only re-open our business operation when our property is in the same excellent condition it was when we closed.  The Breakers re-opened from Hurricane Frances on Wednesday, September 22, 2004 in excellent condition.  Nevertheless, as a result of Hurricane Jeanne, the resort evacuated all guests and employees on the morning of Saturday, September 25, 2004. 

We will employ the highest level of diligence to restoring our business, which includes holding ourselves to the highest standards of quality, safety, and concern for our guests and employees.  We have made a commitment to our employees to ensure their well being during this recovery period, and have made a decision to continue paying them as we did after Hurricane Frances.
