The Breakers Palm Beach Re-opens After Three Week
Closure Due to Hurricane Frances

.

PALM BEACH, FL - September 22, 2004 - The Breakers Palm Beach re-opens for business today, after the threat of Hurricane Frances forced the island of Palm Beach, including all guests and employees of the luxury oceanfront resort, to evacuate on September 2.

None of the buildings on property, including the main hotel, suffered any major structural damage.  Rainwater was detected in 30 guest rooms and landscaping throughout the 140-acre property, including many of the 4,000 trees, and the private beach, suffered from intense winds and rains associated with Hurricane Frances.  The property was also without power for six full days following the storm.

After the propertys condition was assessed, a firm specializing in post-hurricane remediation, was brought in to restore affected areas of the hotel.

Paul Leone, president of The Breakers, noted, We made a commitment to our customers and employees that we would not fully re-open our business operation until our property was in the same excellent condition it was when we closed.  We employed the highest level of diligence to restoring our business, which included holding ourselves to the highest standards of quality, safety and concern for our employees.  The hotels amenities include eight restaurants, a 20,000 square foot Spa, four swimming pools, on-site retail boutiques, a 6,000 square foot Family Entertainment Center, 10 Har-Tru tennis courts, and two championship golf courses.

Leisure and business guests are scheduled to begin arriving late today.  The hotel is expected to open at 100% occupancy, and run between 75 80% occupancy through the month of October.
