WASHINGTON, D.C. � May 26, 2004 � Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR)
announced today that the company has honored 12 employees with its J. Willard
Marriott Award of Excellence. The company established the award in 1987
as a tribute to company co-founder J. Willard Marriott and his ideals of
achievement, character, dedication, effort and perseverance. Marriott
also announced the recipient of its Alice S. Marriott Award for Community
Service, named after the company�s second co-founder.
This year, over 300 hourly and managerial employees were nominated for
the Award of Excellence by their supervisors and peers in recognition of
their commitment to excellence, their teamwork and their �spirit to serve.�
