Jo Kenzel Named Director of Employee Relations
and Recruitment for Benchmark Hospitality
THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS, February 2004 Benchmark Hospitality has appointed Jo Kenzel Director of Employee Relations and Recruitment for the international hospitality management company.  In this position, she serves as the front line resource on employee relations for all Benchmark properties, and is responsible for company-wide management recruitment. 

Ms. Kenzel was appointed to this position after serving as Task Force Director of Human Resources for Benchmark.  She

is based at the company's Home Office in The Woodlands, Texas, near Houston.  Eileen Santoli, Vice President of Human Resources, announced her new appointment.

Before relocating to The Woodlands, Jo Kenzel served as Director of Human Resources at Glade Springs Resort of Daniels, West Virginia, which Benchmark managed at the time. 

Ms. Kenzel was employed by Hyatt Hotels and Resorts for 17 years before joining the Benchmark organization in 2002.  While at Hyatt, she worked with both union and non-union properties, and was appointed to positions of increasing responsibility in the human resource department of hotels throughout the eastern United States, Missouri and Illinois.  She served as Director of Human Resources for properties in Bethesda, Maryland; Boston; Savannah, Georgia; and most recently, in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  She launched her career in hospitality as a Director of Recreation and Health Club Manager before transferring to human resources. 

Jo Kenzel is a certified trainer in several human resource-training programs.  She is a former faculty member of Boston University, teaching both hospitality and human resource management courses.  She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and is an active community volunteer for such organizations as The Rotary and Big Brother / Big Sister.  

Kenzel received her Bachelors Degree at Central Michigan University of Mount Pleasant, Michigan, and attended the American University in Washington, DC, and the Masters program at Lesley University, Cambridge, Massachusetts.
