Business Intelligence System Becomes latest InterContinental Hotel to use Datavision |
WESTON, FLA. (June 9, 2003) Datavision Technologies,
a software solutions firm that specializes in data warehousing and business
intelligence systems for the hospitality industry, recently installed Datavision
Business Intelligence System in the InterContinental New Orleans Hotel.
The hotel joins InterContinental Chicago, Mark Hopkins San Francisco, Barclay
New York and InterContinental Central Park properties to use Datavision
for revenue management and labor control.
Datavision integrates data from the PMS and time clock system into a single integrated data warehouse, allowing the hotel to access key information from both systems from a single source. Every day, Datavision extracts a wealth of data from the PMS including occupancy and revenue data, detailed revenue transactions and future-business-on-the-books data, all by market segment. This allows the revenue manager to effortlessly create occupancy reports, booking pace, pickup and pyramid reports to analyze the hotels business mix and booking build patterns. Datavision also extracts daily payroll data from the time clock system, including regular and overtime hours / dollars by department, by position and by pay code. The system then automatically combines the labor data for each department with that departments revenue and rooms/covers to generate payroll reports that show hours, dollars as well as productivity figures such as payroll cost % revenue, cost per occupied room and cost per cover. All the PMS and payroll information is combined with budget and forecast data, and presented to the General Manager, Controller, Revenue Manager and all department heads via graphical Microsoft Excel reports. With Datavisions Revenue Management Module, we can quickly and accurately combine historical and future occupancy information to get a complete picture of how weve performed thus far and how the future looks, says Scott Dawson, General Manager. The Labor Control Module keeps us in touch with the latest payroll data, and is an important component in helping us control payroll costs. By delivering revenue management and labor control tools in a single system, Datavision allows us to proactively affect our bottom line. We are pleased that the InterContinental New Orleans has joined the growing number of hotels and resorts using Datavision Business Intelligence System, says Sudharshan Chary, President of Datavision. Independent hotels and resorts and branded properties alike use Datavision to extract key information from all production systems at the property, including PMS, point-of-sale and time-and-attendance payroll systems. The system is in the unique position of being an information provider for all decision-makers in the company. About Datavision Technologies
