The Homewood Suites by Hilton, The Woodlands
Achieves Highest Guest Satisfaction
in the Hilton System
Las Vegas, NV - February 12, 2003 - Another Lodging Host hotel recently claimed top honors from a national franchisor.  The Homewood Suites by Hilton, The Woodlands received the Award of Merit for achieving the Highest Guest Satisfaction in the Hilton system.  The award is given based on the Guest Service Rating System (GSRS) where hotel guests are surveyed by mail after checkout.  Accepting the award on behalf of the hotel was General Manager Kammie Robertson.  The award was presented at the annual Hilton Hotels conference held recently in Las Vegas.

Kevin Hilchey, President of Lodging Host Hotel Corporation, had only praise for Mrs. Robertson and her staff, Achieving a top award that is actually chosen by your guests says it all.  It is indicative of Kammie and her staff making sure that all aspects of the hotel are properly operated.  When your guests are happy, they keep coming back.  That is the best indicator that I know of to prove that the hotel asset is being properly cared for and administered.

This award adds to a long, growing list of achievements by Lodging Host Hotel Corp.  In  2001, the Hampton Inn in Marble Falls was honored as the #1 hotel in the state of Texas in the same rating system while earning the "Hilton Circle of Excellence" and "Hampton Pride" Awards from Hilton.

In the last twenty-four months, in addition to the awards from Hilton Hotel Corporation, hotels operated by Lodging Host have been recognized sixteen times.  The company has been recognized by Choice Hotels International with a Platinum Award (their highest award), 5 Gold Awards, 1 Silver Award and 1 Brandy Award (no guest complaints in an entire year).  Best Western International:  The Directors Award (their highest award).  Ramada Inns (Cendant) awarded a Gold Key Award and recognized a hotel for achieving the #1 ranking in the Ramada System for having the fewest guest complaints per occupied room.  Six Continents Hotels (Holiday Inn) has awarded 5 Quality Service Excellence Awards.

Paul Thomas, VP of Marketing for the company added, These awards have not gone unnoticed by either our guests or our hotel partners.  Hotels that are recognized by the franchise companies indicate happy guests.  Happy guests always yield a successful hotel.  The companys motto is Raising Service to an Art and this kind of service certainly makes my job of marketing the properties a whole lot easier.  Too many people in our industry have forgotten that service to others is what it is all about. The year 2002 was a huge disaster for the Hotel Industry.  Our hotels were up over 18% from 2001.  That says it all.

Superior customer service is a culture with the company according to Mary Wetherill, Regional Director for the company in San Antonio. Our employees pride themselves with it.  From the day they start their employment with the company, including their orientation, they are
taught the importance of customer service to our industry. We try to have fun with the people every day

Louis Christian, the companys eastern Regional Director based out of Shreveport, LA, says I think it is the proper mix of training, southern hospitality, hiring the right people and Cajun spice.  People can tell we love what we do.

Hilchey adds, None of us will probably ever be the President of the United States but if people stay at our hotels and have a better day tomorrow because they had a better nights stay tonight, then we have done what we can to make the world a better place.  Thats what our people do.
