The Park Hyatt Chicago is a 203-room deluxe Eurpean boutique
hotel located in the heart of the Magic Mile.To establish the Hyatt Chicago
as a Five Star/Five Diamond service hotel, management is making the needs
of its guests, many of whom are top-level executives and senior executives,
its primary concern.In particular, the hotel wanted to provide a service
that would exceed the expectations of guests traveling with their laptops.
High-speed Internet access was an obvious answer - as was Guest-Tek as
the company to deliver.
Hyatt had previous experience with Guest-Tek when the company installed high-speed Internet access in the Hyatt Regency Calgary in 2000.Impressed with their performance and reliability, Guest-Tek was chosen to implement the service at the Hyatt Chicago as well. Guest-Tek installed high-speed access in all of the Hyatt Chicago �s 203 guest rooms and six meeting rooms in April 2001, earning top marks for service. �As soon as the Guest-Tek team walked in the hotel,they understood exactly what to do,� states Jon Poomikograk, MIS manager/systems administrator at the Hyatt Chicago. Poomikograk says she was completely comfortable leaving the team to do the install, and was overwhelmed by the quality of service during the final walk-through.�The attention to detail was clearly evident from beginning to end.For example, the patch cables at every location were beautifully formed into immaculate braids! I can�t thank the installation crew enough for doing such a flawless and thorough job.� Although only in place for a few months, guests are already impressed with the service and hotel staff are receiving requests for meeting room access two to three times per month. Poomikograk estimates meeting room access is generating close to $1,000 per month,and will increase substantially in the near future. Guest-Tek �s comprehensive technical support has also provided reason to smile. �I can rely on the toll-free support line to alleviate some of my MIS calls during the day, and everyone at Guest-Tek has been extremely supportive, courteous,well-trained and knowledgeable,� asserts Poomikograk.
