National Trust Historic Hotels of America Adds 21
Strategic Relationships to Boost Brand Visibility

WASHINGTON, D.C., February 20, 2002 -- National Trust Historic Hotels of America's members are now receiving additional services and visibility through partnerships with a number of new corporate allies. Initiatives include everything from discounts for goods and services that benefit member hotels to programs increasing awareness of the Historic Hotels of America brand name. 

"Historic Hotels of America continues to offer new marketing programs and brand visibility for our member hotels," says Thierry Roch, executive director of National Trust Historic Hotels of America. "There are marketing initiatives for all members regardless of their size, location or business mix. Whether reaching travel professionals or consumers via the Internet or magazines, purchasing goods and services at reduced prices, or enhancing their product, Historic Hotels of America members will benefit through these partnerships." 
The following Allied members were recently named:

American Express  American Express, a leader in charge and credit cards, supports HHA through event sponsorship at its annual meeting, advertising in the organization's membership directory, and partnering to develop special rates and packages for American Express card members. These activities help drive increased business and spending at Historic Hotels of America.  

Crown Marketing Group Crown Marketing Group, the leader in individual vacation incentives, offers a variety of affordable vacation packages for businesses to use as incentive awards.

Equation Research Equation Research is a full-service research firm focusing on guest and employee satisfaction studies for the hospitality industry. Equation Research will assist HHA by evaluating hotel guest comments regarding stays at HHA member hotels. HHA members will also receive preferred pricing to establish satisfaction studies at the hotel level.

E-Site Marketing E-Site Marketing specializes in hospitality Internet marketing services, including website analysis, customer-centric evaluation and search engine optimization analysis. 

Hotels at Home Hotels at Home provides a catalog in hotel guestrooms so guests may purchase products they have enjoyed during their stay at the hotel. This program allows the hotel to receive the maximum marketing value from their products featured in their hotel, while at the same time, contributing revenue to the hotel through a significant distribution of profits. 

HotelView  HotelView produces two- and four-minute streaming hotel videos for the Internet that take viewers on a hotel tour. HotelView offers discounted rates to members of Historic Hotels of America to create videos for their Web sites.  

HotMeetingDates.com   HotMeetingDates.com is an Internet site designed specifically to market unsold group rooms, targeting short-term business. With only three clicks, meeting planners can search the database, select and send an e-mail booking request directly to their selected hotel(s). 

Interval International Interval International is a vacation exchange network of 1,800 resorts in more than 75 countries. HHA will provide special hotel offers and discounts to Interval's 350,000 "preferred" frequent traveler program members.  

MapMuse.com MapMuse.com offers interactive mapping capabilities. This unique service allows consumers to find activities (including - but not limited to - museums, theatres, golf and jogging trails) that meet their interests throughout the U.S.  

Official Hotel Guide The Official Hotel Guide provides comprehensive profiles of 29,000 hotels and resorts worldwide. OHG offers significant advertising discounts to HHA members.  

Premier Magazine Premier presents first-class and luxury hotels to the travel trade professional specializing in upscale travel. Premier offers advertising discounts to HHA members.

Preservation Magazine  The magazine of the National Trust, Preservation explores people impacting historic places and communities, examines issues, trends and public policy and covers topics such as history, art, architecture, travel and books. Preservation offers advertising discounts to HHA members, as well as special rates for placing the magazine in guest rooms.

Resort Hotel Association The Resort Hotel Association is a non-profit, member managed insurance organization that provides property and casualty insurance products to its association members. A percentage of sales to member hotels will be rebated to HHA.  

Safemark Systems Safemark Systems has served the hospitality industry for 19 years providing more than 250,000 in room safes to U.S., Canadian and Caribbean hotels. 

Traveling America Traveling America has created Historic Driving Journeys: A Series of Break-Away Leisure Experiences(tm), packages based on history, heritage, culture, & scenic roads which include special rates at HHA member hotels and entrance passes to featured museums and cultural attractions. HHA members may develop property specific packages through Traveling America.

USHistoryMonthly USHistory Monthly is the largest free American History newspaper. More than 100,000 papers are circulated each month at more than 2,000 locations. USHistoryMonthly is available through college universities, high schools, museums, national landmarks, hotels and bookstores throughout America. Subscriptions are also currently available.

WeddingLocation.com  WeddingLocation.com provides a search engine to find locations for weddings. It creates the hotel's wedding web pages on their Internet site with a link to the hotel's web site and e-mail address. WeddingLocation.com guarantees that the hotel will get a wedding function, or the page stays on the web site until it does. 

National Trust Historic Hotels of America is a program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. HHA has identified more than 170 hotels in 44 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and Canada that have faithfully maintained their historic integrity, architecture and ambience. To be selected for this program, a hotel must be at least 50 years old, listed in or eligible for the National Register of Historic Places or recognized locally as having historic significance.
