By Ashley Luthern, Milwaukee Journal SentinelMcClatchy-Tribune Regional News

April 23--An Iowa development group tasked with restoring a Green Bay hotel that hosted presidents and professional football players has experience with historic buildings, reports the Green Bay Press Gazette.

The former Hotel Northland in downtown Green Bay has a long history and close ties with the National Football League. It was where Vince Lombardi gave his first news conference after being named head coach and general manager of the Green Bay Packers and opposing teams would stay while in town games.

Franz-Hobart LLC of Cedar Rapids renovated a 1800s wagon factory in Dubuque, Iowa, and is charged with restoring the Hotel Northland.
