By Michelle McNiel, The Wenatchee World, Wash.McClatchy-Tribune Regional News April 15--Wenatchee The City Council has approved a contract with the Wenatchee Valley Chamber of Commerce for tourism services. The action follows up a decision by the council in December to terminate a similar agreement with the Wenatchee Valley Visitors Bureau and shift its tourism promotions money to the Chamber. Under the new agreement approved Thursday, the city will pay up to $255,000 of lodging tax revenues generated in the city to the Chamber for a "dynamic tourism promotion effort." The contract expires Dec. 31. The Visitors Bureau dissolved after the city decided to give the tax money to the chamber. -- Michelle McNiel, World staff ___ (c)2013 The Wenatchee World (Wenatchee, Wash.)
