Former Sunterra VP, Gary Hyde, Appointed as Regional Vice President for Shell Hospitality Group, Inc.
NORTHBROOK, IL�September 11, 2000 -- A  resort property management executive with nearly two decades of experience has recently been selected as Regional Vice President for Shell Hospitality Group, Inc.

In his new position, Gary Hyde serves as a Regional Vice President of operations and business development for the Northbrook, Illinois-based hotel and resort management company. His areas of responsibility include fiscal and site operations for the 357-unit Inn of Chicago hotel and the 172-unit Carriage Hills at Horseshoe Resort in Barrie, Ontario, Canada, a Shell Vacations vacation ownership resort. At both properties he will assist in overseeing resort operations, associations and financial management, owner relations, and facilities.

In his business development position for Shell Hospitality, Hyde will concentrate on standardization of resort operating policies and procedures, preferred vendor alliances and the development of third party management opportunities of resort facilities. 

Formerly with Sunterra Resorts as VP of Operations for the Midwest Region, he previously served with Vacation Resorts International as VP of resort operations for its Rocky Mountain and Pacific Northwest regions.  Hyde was educated at Central State University and Colorado State University.

His past experience as president of six condominium associations, along with his extensive management background provided him with excellent Board, owner and client liaison skills.�

An affiliate of Shell Vacations, in 1999, Shell Hospitality�s 1,300 employees managed total operations for 14 vacation ownership resorts and hotels, representing over 2,300 units in Hawaii, Arizona, California, and Canada.
