Delta Hotels and Sun Peaks Resort Corporation Developing $40 million
Delta Sun Peaks Resort in
British Columbia

SUN PEAKS, B.C. September 14, 2000 Delta Hotels and Sun Peaks Resort Corporation today announced plans for the design and construction of Delta Sun Peaks Resort, a first-class, 230-room hotel and conference centre to open in time for the Christmas 2001/2002 ski season. The estimated cost of the project is $40 million.

We are delighted to be working with Sun Peaks Resort Corporation on this project, commented John Johnston, President, Delta Hotels. Delta is known for the diversity of its city-centre, resort and airport hotels located in major Canadian business centres and prime, year-round resort destinations. This new resort in Sun Peaks further strengthens our growing resort portfolio. Delta also features resorts located in Whistler, B.C., Kananaskis, Alberta and Haliburton, Ontario.

Located just 50-km or 30-miles northeast of Kamloops, Sun Peaks Resort is a year-round mountain resort destination featuring spectacular skiing, snow - boarding, mountain biking, hiking and golf in the heart of British Columbias interior. Inspired by the beauty and spirit of its location, the construction and style of Delta Sun Peaks Resort will reflect the unique colourful charm of a European mountain village. With 230 rooms, Delta Sun Peaks Resort will be the largest full-service hotel available at Sun Peaks. The hotel will be located at the base of the mountain just steps from the Village Centre, featuring a 150-seat restaurant, an 80-seat lounge, over 12,000 square feet of meeting space with a 5,600-square foot ballroom, a full-service Health Club facility with pool, spa and fitness centre, underground parking and retail shops.

The development of Delta Sun Peaks Resort will be a strong draw for travellers already familiar with the Delta brand. With its continued growth and natural appeal, Sun Peaks Resort is fast becoming a world-class, four-season vacation destination to rival the most popular vacation resorts, suggested Masayoshi Ohkubo, President and owner of Sun Peaks Resort Corporation. In addition to the increased tourism draw, this investment will create close to 500 direct and indirect jobs and will encourage further development in the Sun Peaks Resort area.

In partnership with Sun Peaks Resort Corporation, Delta Hotels will invest a percentage of the equity capital as well as assume complete management of the hotel operations upon completion.

Delta Sun Peaks Resort to
Create 500 Jobs

SUN PEAKS, B.C., September 14, 2000 The construction of the new Delta Sun Peaks Resort will have  a tremendous impact on the economy by creating  approximately 500 direct and indirect jobs, according to estimates prepared by Sun Peaks Resort Corporation.

The capital expenditure of $40 million for the planning and  development of Delta Sun Peaks Resort will provide 120 people a year with full-time employment during the construction phase and the related operating expenses of about $8 million will generate 200 jobs and approximately  180 tourism related jobs.

The continued development and growing international  interest of tourists in Sun Peaks Resort will have a very positive impact on both tourism and the general economy of the Sun Peaks, Kamloops and Shuswap region, according to Masayoshi Ohkubo, President and owner of
Sun Peaks Resort Corporation. Delta Hotels strong  involvement in the community reflects our commitment to providing visitors with first-class product and services as well as provide potential employees with an opportunity to work for a hotel company who will create an ideal work  environment.

Delta Hotels will oversee the recruitment and hiring process for  the employees working at Delta Sun Peaks Resort. Delta Hotels will also manage the operations of the full-service, first-class hotel.
