 Hospitalitygoods.com Launches Procurement
Network for Hospitality Industry;
Sourcing Directly from Manufacturers
LOS ANGELES - June 28, 2000 -- Hospitalitygoods.com, a new company that promises to value engineer the e-commerce fulfillment gap, has been founded by principals who own hotels in both Asia and the United States and manufacturing facilities worldwide.

We know that hotel operators are constantly searching for hospitality-related durable goods at best values both in terms of price and quality, said John Wong, one of the founders of hospitalitygoods.com. Hospitalitygoods.com will provide incredible savings to the hospitality industry by sourcing directly from worldwide low-cost manufacturers. By having procurement offices located in worldwide low-cost manufacturing centers such as China, Taiwan and Indonesia, we will be able to source directly and eliminate unnecessary intermediaries.

The Internet enables us to streamline what has traditionally been a laborious and painful procurement process. Hospitalitygoods.com will focus on creating a New Economy procurement company that provides best value for our customers backed up by superior customer service, said Wong.

According to Deutsche Bank Alex Brown, hospitality procurement is a $38 billion industry in the United States, and tops $100 billion worldwide.

Our business model is fundamentally different from the recent hotel-related e-commerce procurement companies that have been launched, in that we will be focusing on actual product fulfillment and value-engineering the process, not on portal or e-hub development. We will be able to provide our customers true value by saving them 30 to 70 percent savings on many hospitality-related durable goods that they are currently purchasing at high volumes, by sourcing directly from manufacturers, continued Wong.

Hospitalitygoods.com has a procurement office already open in China and will be opening offices soon in Indonesia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The companys customer service and order processing facilities will be based in Southern California. Information and a registration form are currently available at www.hospitalitygoods.com and the site is expected to go live by September.
