John Murphy Joins Shell Vacations as its 
Regional Director Arizona Region 
NORTHBROOK, IL�July 21, 2000 -- A  respected sales management executive with over two decades of vacation ownership experience has recently been appointed to head Shell Vacations� Arizona resorts. 

John Murphy has joined Shell Vacations as its Regional Director Arizona Region where he has assumed executive leadership responsibilities for the company�s three vacation ownership properties. 

According to Perry Snyderman, Managing Director of the Northbrook, Illinois-based vacation ownership company, �John Murphy has had a long and successful career building sales and marketing operations. His decisive leadership and organizational skills have contributed to his impressive vacation ownership credentials, making him the natural choice for this most important position.�

Murphy will provide leadership and vision in the overall management of several hundred sales, marketing, and hospitality management personnel at The Legacy Golf Resort At South Mountain Ranch in Phoenix, Starr Pass Golf Suites in Tucson and Orange Tree Golf Resort in Scottsdale. He will also assist in the acquisition and development of new resorts, sales and marketing offices and other properties within the Arizona region planned for the future. 

The company recently launched Shell Vacations Club, an innovative points-based vacation club, which is now being  sold at its Arizona resorts.

Formerly with the Sunterra Corporation for three years, Murphy was regional director of  sales and marketing for that company�s Desert Mountain Region, consisting of Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico. Previously, he was with Fairfield Communities for 12 years, serving in various management roles in timeshare sales and marketing, land development and property management.  Murphy was educated at Rutgers University in New Jersey and Boston University in Massachusetts.

Shell Vacations currently operates 14 resorts in Canada, California, Arizona and Hawaii and serves more than 50,000 owners. With over 2,000 employees, Shell is one of the nation�s largest independent vacation ownership developers.
