Shell Vacations Opens Holua Resort
at Mauna Loa Village
Northbrook, ILMAY 15, 2000 -- Shelly Ginsburg, Managing Director of
Shell Vacations has announced the recent opening of two of his companys six Hawaii resorts. The companys point-based Shell Vacations Club is being sold at both properties.

In keeping with Hawaiian tradition, the Holua Resort at Mauna Loa Village recently celebrated its grand opening with a moving and traditional Hawaiian blessing for the success of the resort, its staff and guests. The resort is now open for both sales and owner occupancy.

Located in Kona on the Big Island, the Holua Resort at Mauna Loa Village has launched sales for its 25 one- two- and three-bedroom villas at the new Shell Vacations Club property. Villas overlook the par 72 Kona Country Club golf course and feature ocean views. Additional amenities include multiple swimming pools with adjacent hot tubs. The resort is located six miles from Kona Village, which features speciality shops and fine dining. When completed in June of 2000, a total of 66 vacation villas will be available at the new Shell Vacations Club resort.

After completing the first phase of a $10 million renovation program, the Kauai Coast Resort at the Beachboy was also opened on the same weekend in April for owner occupancy. Sales had been underway at the property since last November. The property is located in the heart of Kauai and within easy walking distance from the Coconut Palm Shopping Center.

The first phase of the newly renovated resort features 33 one- and two-bedroom vacation villas, designed in an Old World Hawaiian motif.  Amenities include an open-air lobby, a dramatic waterfall and pond, pool jacuzzi, tennis court, exercise facility and activity center against an ocean backdrop.

Both properties are being managed by Shell Hospitality Group, Inc., an affiliate of Shell Vacations. Shell Hospitalitys 1,300 employees managed total operations for 12 vacation ownership resorts and hotels in 1999, representing over 2,000 units in Hawaii, Arizona, California, and Canada.

According to Sue Kelly, CHA, and Senior Vice President of Shell Hospitality Group, We are proud to continue to provide an exemplary team of hospitality professionals at these two resorts who consider employee relations and customer service to be their top priorities.

In addition to its other nine resorts in California, Arizona and Canada, Shells other Hawaiian resorts include: The Kona Coast Resort, Paniolo Greens, Lawai Beach Resort, and Pono Kai Resort.
