Sofitel Hotels in the U.S. Updating Financial Management with Scala Hospitalitys Back Office Accounting Software
Lake Mary, Florida (August 2, 2000) - Scala Hospitality, the leading provider of Integrated Management Information Solutions (IMIS), recently signed a contract with Accor North America Business & Leisure Hotels to install Scala 5.1 - Scala Hospitalitys back office accounting software - and to set up reporting and planning applications for the new Sofitel hotels in the United States.

The customized back office accounting software package consists of the general ledger and accounts payable modules.  General ledger collects data from the existing Fidelio Property Management System, the Point of Sales system and the payroll application. The accounts payable module provides managers the ability to monitor and control cash outflow.  Utilizing flexible, user-defined payment terms, Scalas payment proposal allows control over disbursements while optimizing the use of vendor discounts.

Scala Hospitalitys Integrated Management Information Solutions realize significant savings in time and labor costs by virtually eliminating manual data entry and duplicated processes.

Scala Hospitalitys financial management solution addresses our need to update current systems while providing the increased functionality we are looking for as we open new hotels, said Maureen Conway, Corporate Controller for Accor North America.

Accor North America is also installing RPT (Reporting and Planning Tool), one of Scala Hospitalitys business intelligence applications. RPT provides key financial data for evaluating hotel performance and for planning budgets.  This software package also allows management to view the propertys performance in real-time.

The financial systems provider evaluation process began when Accor compiled a list of their needs, expectations and questions. According to Conway, Accor North America chose Scala Hospitality for their solid technology systems, dedicated service and support and solid interfacing capabilities.  Scala Hospitality is unique in the fact that their solution and ongoing enhancements are driven by the hospitality market, said Conway.
