Shell Vacations Club, Operator of Vacation
Ownership Resorts, Will Begin Selling
Vacation Ownership in Yachts
SAN DIEGO, CAMay 9, 2000 -- One of the nations leading independent vacation ownership developers recently announced a joint venture with one of Californias most respected water-based vacation clubs.

Shell Vacations Club (SVC), the operator of 15 vacation ownership resorts in Arizona, California and Hawaii with over 50,000 members, has completed a joint-venture agreement with the San Diego-based Harbor Vacations Club (HVC), operators of seven motor yachts and floating villas. HVC is one of the only floating resort programs in Interval Internationals exchange system. According to newly appointed Project Director Norm Hansen, Shell Vacations will begin sales of the yachts and floating villas on June 15.
HVC is located on scenic Harbor Island in San Diego with access to Sea World, Shelter Island, Coronado Island and the new Coors Amphitheater.  HVCs fleet currently includes four 45 floating villas, a 41 motor yacht, a 32 sailing catamaran and their new 55 Bluewater yacht. The joint venture with SVC will allow HVC to increase its fleet to a total of 23 vessels in San Diego.

Explains Hansen, The Bluewater yacht is a coastal cruiser, designed for cruising open waterways and inland bays. It features two staterooms with two full baths, salon, a dining area, galley, top decks, and smoked glass windows. We are very excited to be bringing this unique vacation ownership product to the California area and truly believe it is the most exciting type of vacation accommodation to hit the vacation scene in years.

HVC has access to 23 slips in a San Diego Bay marina where the villas and yachts are presently moored. The first 55 Bluewater yacht is in the process of being retrofitted for use. Plans call for the remaining 16 slips to be filled with additional Bluewater yachts.
Additional amenities and features on the yachts and floating villas include natural wood interiors, large salons, private aft decks, washers and dryers, full kitchens, complete entertainment centers, satellite TVs, VCRs and stereos. Each yacht has a fully furnished galley. HVC members also have the option of enjoying meals at five dockside restaurants or having meals catered on board. The club also features a full service delicatessen and catering service.

SVC members will be able to utilize their points for vacations on HVCs yachts and floating villas. According to Sheldon Ginsburg, Managing Director of Shell Vacations, These boats are like a floating hotel and feature all the amenities youd expect in an upscale resort. We are delighted to add this most unique vacation product to our ever-expanding Vacation Club for the enhancement of our member benefits and vacation options.

Members of HVC will have the ability to trade their points for accommodations on the floating villas and power yachts in addition to using their points for vacations at other Shell resort properties. According to Hansen, Members can also use their points to enjoy a selection of water toys such as wave runners, kayaks, a Boston Whaler and even to have a Captain take them out on a Bay cruise.
