Baymont Inns & Suites Testing its Product with
a System Wide Sleepover
MILWAUKEE, May 3, 2000 - Employees of national hotel company Baymont Inns & Suites are being challenged to put themselves in their guests slippers on Sunday, May 7.  More than 2,500 Baymont employees and their familiescorporate staff, Inn managers and housekeeperswill participate in a systemwide Slumber Party to check out every aspect of an overnight stay in preparation for the summer travel season.

According to Baymont Inns & Suites President and Chief Operating Officer Jim Abrahamson, the chain wants to ensure that employees experience what guests experiencecustomer service, room quality, amenities and more first-hand as the company continues a nationwide accelerated development and expansion initiative.

Most employees show their dedication to a company by staying late at work.  Were asking our team to take that a step further and stay all night, says Abrahamson.  Walk what you talk is our philosophy.  Every company should test its product on a consistent basis to ensure its on par with whats being promised.

To that end, all managers of Baymont Inns & Suites are embarking on an aggressive initiative, blitzing their local markets to answer questions about the Baymont Inns & Suites experience and promote the companys amenities.

Baymont provides an impressive array of home-away-from-home amenities, including a popular complimentary lobby breakfast, in-room coffee maker with complimentary coffee, in-room hair dryer, free USA Today newspaper, iron and ironing board, guest voice mail and free local calls, 25-inch television with portable remote control, free cable/satellite movies, and extra-long beds.

Security features include card-key locks, security viewports, well-lighted parking lots and common areas, and interior corridors at most locations.  The company also sponsors a national travel safety program to promote safety while on the road. When it comes to business travel, guests will find that Baymont helps alleviate stress while working on the road by providing several amenities and services in its business class rooms.  Services include free copies and incoming faxes (up to five pages), speakerphone, overnight mail materials at the front desk, task lighting with a modem jack in the lamp base and an executive-size desk with ergonomic chair.

Baymont Inns & Suites, headquartered in Milwaukee, WI, is a division of The Marcus Corporation (NYSE: MCS), comprised of four divisions: limited-service lodging, movie theatres, hotel/resorts, and restaurants.
