Vazquez, who is based in New York, is responsible for the sales, marketing, customer service, business development and overall positioning of Summit Hotels & Resorts in the Americas. Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, Summit Hotels & Resorts became a part of Pegasus Solutions as a result of Pegasus' recent acquisition of Phoenix-based REZsolutions.

Prior to joining Summit, Vazquez spent eight years with The Leading Hotels of the World Ltd., most recently as area vice president for the Americas - the company's largest territory. In addition to overseeing all sales, marketing, reservations and financial results for that unit, he managed multi-brands and was responsible for hotel account maintenance and new-member solicitation. From 1992 to 1998, Vazquez was vice president, sales and marketing; director of marketing, worldwide; and director of sales, North America.

According to Geoff Andrew, senior vice president and managing director of Summit Hotels & Resorts, Vazquez's more than 20 years' experience in elevating the awareness of independent luxury hotels will be key as Summit steps up its visibility in the Americas.

Prior to joining The Leading Hotels of the World, Vazquez held various sales and marketing management positions with American Express TRS Co., Inc. and The St. Regis hotel in New York City.
