Garth Alexander Oldershaw, the
design partner of Oldershaw & DeMann, has a solid background in all
aspects of interior and product design. Trained as an architect at the
University of California at Berkeley, he has been associated with prestigious
firms in New York and Los Angeles prior to his co-founding Oldershaw &
DeMann.
After
joining Hirsch/Bedner and Associates in Los Angeles, his hospitality projects
included the Four Seasons Paris, the Beverly Hills Hotel, and the Ritz-Carlton
Millenia Hotel, Singapore, named �The Best New Hotel in the World� by Executive
Travel Magazine in 1996.
During his tenure at Naomi Leff and Associates in New
York, he focused on residential projects and corporate work for prestigious
clients such as Ralph Lauren and Saks Fifth Avenue. In Los Angeles, he
expanded his retail design experience while at Walker Group/CNI.
Interior design, space planning, production of working
drawings, lighting design, construction supervision plus the design of
custom furnishings are all currently honed skills.
As a product designer, Oldershaw has created award-winning
furniture for a Los Angeles manufacturer, which is distributed throughout
the U.S. in 16 showrooms. In 1994, he was a Roscoe award finalist for excellence
in furniture design.
In 1998, he launched his own furniture collection as part
of a comprehensive umbrella group of furnishings, lighting, textiles and
carpets. The collection is slated for national distribution. |

and Andy Warhol.
The interior furnishings are forward thinking. Carpets inspired by historical
textiles and traditional Asian motifs are contemporary and fresh when reinvented
in new colors and set against the confidant and bold architectural envelope
designed by AIA Gold Medal Winner Kevin Roche.
Each
guestroom features bathtubs with large picture windows overlooking the
sea. At over 60 square meters, these large guestrooms also feature hardwood
floors and handmade Tibetan carpets. |
