Earning honors in the premier category was the Richfield management team operating St. Louis Regal Riverfront Hotel, led by hotel general manager Evert Maks.  The Regal Riverfront is one of 12 Regal-brand hotels Richfield owns and operates in the U.S.

Also earning honors in the premier category team was Todd Raessler, general manager of The Madison Hotel, in Morristown, New Jersey.

General manager Joseph Higgins of the Inn on Maritime Bay, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin was noted for outstanding performance in the full-service category, as was John Newman, general manager of the Clarion Hotel Sacramento.

Earning honors in the economy lodging category was the Comfort Inn Washington Gateway West team led by general manager Holly Dingman.

Also earning honors in the economy category was Scott McEwan, general manager of the Comfort Inn Herndon management team.

OLeary noted that each hotels financial improvement came as a result of applying a complex blend of available Richfield options, including implementation of effective revenue building strategy, property accounting, human resources administration, information systems, cash management, purchasing services or insurance procurement.

Every hotel has its own challenge and unique keys to success theres no cookie-cutter solution.  Each of the general manager winners has led his or her team in analyzing the unique needs and resources of their property, then applying the best tools to make a significant and lasting financial impact, OLeary said.

OLeary also pointed out that Presidents Award achievements reflect Richfields success in increasing asset value under a variety of flags.  Richfield manages properties under brand names including Sheraton, Hilton, Holiday Inn and Choice Hotels.

Recently, the company was named to manage the Whittier Hilton and inked a contract renewal with the Pleasanton Hilton, California properties owned by the same hotel group.  Owners of The Wisp Resort, a mountain retreat in Maryland, also recently renewed their management contract with Richfield.
