 The Historic Casa de Palmas Hotel in McAllen, Texas To Be Restored as a Marriott Renaissance
 
Vancouver, WA, July 1999 - Northwest Hospitality Group, LLC, Vancouver, Washington,, has purchased the historic Casa de Palmas Hotel in McAllen, Texas, which will become a Marriott Renaissance property.  Extensive renovation will begin in June and is expected to be completed by February of 2000.    Northwest Hospitality Group will manage the 165 room hotel.

The Casa de Palmas Hotel in McAllen, Texas, which was built in 1918, is a Texas State landmark.   The white stucco exterior of the Spanish Colonial style hotel is considered one of the most beautiful in the south Texas area. 

�Our goal is to return Casa de Palmas to the glory of its past,� said Rick Takach, president, Northwest Hospitality Group.  �We expect the hotel to attract corporate customers as well as weekend visitors.�

Along with a complete restoration, the new management of the hotel will add a 3,600 square foot ballroom, two deluxe spa suites, two additional one-bedroom suites and 100 new parking spaces. 

McAllen, Texas, a city of 85,000 near the Mexican Border, is one of the fastest growing cities in the U.S.
