| ACAPULCO (MEXICO) -- June, 1999 ... Xavier Destribats, General
Manager of Hyatt Regency Acapulco, was bestowed the award �Hotelier of
the Year 1998� at this year�s Aplausso 99, an annual event organized by
Acapulco�s leading newspaper Sol de Acapulco.
The award recognizes Acapulco�s most successful businessmen and women and those, who have shown a strong commitment to the local community. The annual Aplausso 99, held in May, was celebrated at one of Acapulco�s premier nightclubs. The Mexican celebrity Veronica Castro was invited to present the prize to the winner.
Destribats adds, �I would like to take this opportunity and invite my colleagues in the hospitality industry to continue to strive for improvement of the service in the industry as a whole.� Other awards Hyatt Regency Acapulco received in past months include the Award of Excellence 1998 as the result of a survey conducted by the magazine Destinos & Convenciones. The survey included the 15 most important incentive houses in Mexico. Already in 1997 Destinos & Convenciones, a leading trade publication in Mexico, recognized Hyatt Regency Acapulco as Best Chain Hotel for its outstanding convention and meeting facilities. There are 190 Hyatt Hotels and Resorts around the world. Hyatt International, through its subsidiaries, operates 59 hotels and 20 resorts in 35 countries, with an additional 26 hotels under development. Hyatt Hotels Corporation, a separate company, operates 111 hotels and resorts in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. |
