Joel K. Heberlein, CHA Named 
Michigan Hotelier of the Year
 
March 23, 1999 - Joel K. Heberlein, CHA, General Manager of the Kellogg Hotel &  Conference Center at Michigan State University was named  Michigan Hotelier of the Year by the Michigan Hotel, Motel, & Resort Association for 1999.  Heberlein, a 20 year veteran of the  hospitality industry, has been at the helm of the Kellogg Center for  6 years.  During his tenure at Kellogg he has orchestrated the total renovation of the facility; 165 guestrooms and suites, 32 meeting  and banquet rooms with over 35,000 feet of flexible function space. 

Located on the campus of Michigan State University, it is a full  service hotel and conference center.  Heberlein was previously  General Manager of the Jupiter Beach Hilton Hotel in Jupiter, Florida.

Also from Kellogg Center, Ms. Everlyn Hill was name 1999 Michigan Hotel Motel & Resort Association Kitchen Worker of the  year.  Ms. Hill has spent her entire career, spanning over 25 years  at the Kellogg Center, roughly 50,000 hours in the same kitchen!

Both Heberlein and Hill will be honored at an awards banquet at the  Amway Grand Plaza Hotel on April 12, 1999 during the annual  convention of the Michigan Hotel Motel & Resort Association.
