|MINNEAPOLIS, MN, March 30, 1999 - IDeaS, Inc., the leading
yield management supplier to the hospitality industry, has announced
that its yield management system, IDeaL/YIELD, has positively impacted
revenues at the Accor managed property, Novotel Twin Waters Resort on the
Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia.
Installed in 1998, the system's contribution to the hotel's room revenues have exceeded IDeaS’ stated goals with a very encouraging set of results.
IDeaS has used the IDeaL/RESULTS system to isolate and measure the increase in yield. This allows IDeaS’ clients to understand the contribution the yield system is making to the business, separate from market demand, pricing, market mix, or other factors that constantly affect Revenue Per Available Room (REVPAR).
“What’s the point in having an automated yield system if you can’t measure its effectiveness” said Mr Norman Arundel , General Manager of Novotel Twin Waters Resort.
“We’ve been very pleased with how the IDeaS system has complimented and fit in with the marketing strategies of the resort. The market has softened significantly over the last six months and we know the system has played a role in helping us to maximize rate and increase our average length of stay. There has been a noticeable improvement on our shoulder days,” Arundel added.
"We are very pleased that Mr Arundel’s team has incorporated the yield solution into their operations so effectively” said Dr. Subhash Gupta, CEO and CO-founder of IDeaS, Inc. “As we see in this case, yield management can buffer a hotel from a softening market by making the most of the demand that is available for rooms."
The yield management solution from IDeaS optimizes room revenues for
hotels and resorts by ensuring that rooms are sold at the right time, at
the right price, and in line with the specific hotel's management strategies.
The system also enables effective evaluation and placement of group reservations
and pricing to increase overall revenues.
