Hilton Hotels Corporation Implements Enhanced Revenue Management System From Talus

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif - March 24, 1999--Hilton Hotels Corporation and Talus Solutions, Inc. announced today that Hilton has successfully implemented a system-wide, client-server Revenue Management system throughout Hilton's U.S. locations.

Following an intensive year of design and development, the state-of-the art Revenue Management system from Talus has been rolled out. The system interfaces with the RezView(TM) Central Reservation System from REZsolutions and with Hilton's new worldwide reservation system, HILSTAR, which is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 1999.

"We're very pleased with the extraordinary efforts by Talus on this project," said Greg Cross, Vice President, Revenue Management at Hilton Hotels Corporation. "We initiated this project with Talus under great time pressure and facing many technological challenges.

Talus organized teams from their Atlanta and Mountain View, Calif., offices to work with multiple teams from Hilton and a number of other suppliers. Such coordination requirements represented a significant challenge for everyone, and Talus met the challenge headon."

"Hilton Hotels Corporation continues to lead the industry in many aspects of Revenue Management, and this project represents one of the more sophisticated Revenue Management initiatives in the world," said Larry Hall, Talus Chief Operating Officer. "Hilton has a comprehensive view of Revenue Management which includes a focus on training, organization, and business process, in addition to technology. They have realized impressive revenue gains through their Revenue Management initiatives, and Talus is very proud to have Hilton in our portfolio of highly successful clients."

Revenue Management: A Required Business Practice

Talus Revenue Management involves sophisticated computer technology to capture large amounts of data, process it with complex mathematical formulas and present the results to users in a way that enables them to make better business decisions. At Talus, we are focused on identifying opportunities for increasing "revenue."

This is a powerful differentiator from companies that are focused on simply reducing cost or increasing productivity. For most companies worldwide, the greatest opportunities that they have for increasing profitability are on the
"revenue side" rather than the cost side.

Our customers measure the improvements from our solutions in units of 10's of millions of dollars. In most cases, we are the highest value IT investment opportunity available to a client.
