Capella Hotels and Resorts & Castleton Hotel Partners I, LLC
Open the 49-room Capella Washington D.C.

WASHINGTON, April 4, 2013 -- Capella Hotels and Resorts and Capella Washington D.C., Georgetown's ownership, D.C. based, Castleton Hotel Partners I, LLC celebrated the unveiling of this latest elegant addition to the capital city on April 3rd, 2013. Guests who attended the opening were part of a special ribbon-cutting ceremony at the hotel from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with welcome remarks from Horst Schulze, Chairman and CEO of Capella Hotels and Resorts and Bruce F. Bradley of Castleton Hotel Partners I, LLC, the hotel owners. After the welcome remarks by Schulze and Bradley, guests were invited to inscribe their wishes and messages on lighted lanterns placed around the hotel to herald the opening of the property. To symbolize the property as open, Schulze and Bradley cut a colorful floral garland specially prepared by MultiFlor Inc. Guests were also treated to personal tours of the property and tastings of signature dishes courtesy of The Grill Room's Chef Jacob Esko.

Guest rooms and suites that were showcased featured luxury products and couture labels courtesy of Saks Fifth Avenue. Visitors were also shown guest room environments specially tailored for business travelers, in-room health and wellness options by Fuse Pilates, romantic room settings ideal for couples or honeymooners replete with in-room candlelit dinner and much more.

"Washington D.C. is a remarkable destination with incredible experiences – rich in culture and also a vibrant dining, retail and entertainment scene. With the Capella Washington D.C., Georgetown, our intention is to make all that D.C. offers easily and effortlessly accessible to our guests," said Horst Schulze, Chairman and CEO, Capella Hotels and Resorts.

"We're bringing a new level of personalized service and special guest services to the region with Capella," said Bruce F. Bradley of Castleton Hotel Partners I, LLC. "We wanted to create a highly intimate property offering the ultimate in privacy and security, as well as offering everyday interaction with the Georgetown and D.C. community."

The new hotel's prime location, bordering the historic C&O Canal in Georgetown, provides business and leisure guests with easy access to all of Washington, including the National Mall and Smithsonian museums, the U.S. Capitol and White House, The World Bank and other international organizations, federal government agencies and financial and business districts.

The interior design for the intimate 49-room hotel was conceptualized by Peter Silling of Peter Silling & Associates Hotel Interior Design Ltd. in collaboration with Capella and Castleton Hotel Partners I, LLC. The overall design of the hotel is inspired by the history of American architecture and Silling brought the hotel to life by depicting the evolution of this genre through the use of original contemporary art and furniture design blended with the more classic feel of the brownstone building's industrial exterior. Timeless pewter and gold tones are carried throughout the hotel and into the individually designed guest rooms, which have been crafted to resemble elegant private residences. Silling's design is also focused on providing a high level of guest comfort with rooms and suites featuring ample living and work space, plush furniture, modern amenities, technology and guest services.

Guests of the new property will have access to attentive Capella Personal Assistants around-the-clock; complimentary refreshment center; complimentary laundry pressing service of up to five pieces; complimentary Wi-Fi and innovative programming to ensure guests are fully immersed in D.C. culture and way of life. Special guest services include private after-hours shopping in the city's most exclusive stores and access to Washington's newest and hottest attractions.

The Grill Room and The Rye Bar are two of the hotel's signature establishments. Helmed by Swedish Chef Jakob Esko, The Grill Room and The Rye Bar features a picturesque canal-front patio, creative menus and a well-designed interior. The Grill Room will specialize in the preparation of hand-cut, bone-in, artisanal meats, bracingly fresh seafood and memorable tableside preparations. The Rye Bar will feature rare rye whiskeys, carefully composed cocktails and a specialty menu of creative bar fare. From plate to glass and ambiance to service, the experience at The Grill Room and The Rye Bar will appeal to all senses.

From the beginning, Capella's elegant hotels and resorts have quickly established themselves as luxury leaders in such locations as Singapore, Dusseldorf, Ixtapa, and Cabo San Lucas. In the next two years, the company will open new properties in Sochi, Russia (2013), Riviera Maya in Mexico (2014), and Bangkok, Thailand (opening date to be announced soon) along with the new Washington D.C. property.
