Randy Reed Named as Executive Chef for the 792-room
InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile in Illinois

- The InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile is pleased to announce the appointment of Executive Chef Randy Reed to lead the hotel's food and beverage offerings. A long-standing employee of the InterContinental Hotels Group, Chef Reed will direct the culinary creations featured in the hotel's restaurant, The Continental, as well as the menus for in-room dining and event catering.

"We're very excited to welcome Chef Reed to lead our culinary operations," said General Manager Raymond Vermolen. "Utilizing his talent and years of experience with high-volume dining rooms and events, Chef Reed will be a great addition to the team and will continue to provide our guests with superb options for dining and catering."

Chef Reed attended the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts and participated in the InterContinental's Cross Exposure Program soon after graduating, spending time in the kitchens of the hotel group's San Francisco properties. Chef Reed then served as sous chef for the Cleveland Yacht Club, helping to cater events from 40 to 200 attendees. He then moved on to The InterContinental Cleveland's kitchen team and assisted with managing the hotel's two restaurants.  Most recently, Chef Reed served as Executive Sous Chef at The Willard InterContinental in Washington D.C., managing the overall operations of the kitchen staff and creating seasonal, in-room dining, and special event menus for large-scale banquets.
