Daniel Egan Named Director of Sales and Marketing for the
Chicago - April 18, 2012 - InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Egan as director of sales and marketing, effective immediately. Bringing nearly 20 years of experience in property sales management to his new position, Egan will oversee all sales, marketing, and public relations efforts for the historic hotel along Chicago's famed Michigan Avenue.
"We are thrilled to welcome Daniel to our team as director of sales," says General Manager Raymond Vermolen. "His previous experience in hotel sales makes him the ideal candidate for the position, perfectly poised to help elevate our stature in the industry."
A graduate of Loyola University Chicago with a degree in business administration and a paralegal certificate, Egan has overseen the sales and marketing efforts for a number of Hyatt Hotels, Marriott Hotels, and Starwood Hotels & Resorts properties throughout his tenure. He accepted his first director of group sales appointment with Starwood Hotels & Resorts at the Westin on Michigan Avenue, before spending eighteen months as director of sales for the Sheraton Suites Elk Grove Village in Chicago's northern suburbs. In 2001, he accepted a position at the Chicago Marriott O'Hare, where he held various titles including director of hotel sales, director of sales and marketing, and area director of sales and marketing, and achieved the company's Sales Team of the Year award for the Midwest Region in 2004. In 2005, he returned to Starwood, first serving as director of sales and marketing for the Westin Chicago North Shore, and then moving west to take a position as director of sales for the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco's Union Square neighborhood. His most recent position prior to joining the InterContinental Chicago was as director of sales and marketing for the Westin Chicago River North.
