New Castle Hotels & Resorts Opens the Hampton Inn in Shelton,
Connecticut Following a Renovation and Reflagging

SHELTON, CT – Sept. 14, 2011 – New Castle Hotels & Resorts, a leading hotel owner/developer and third-party manager, announced the opening of the Hampton Inn hotel located in Shelton, Connecticut. New Castle acquired the property in 2010, and recently completed a major renovation and repositioning of the property to a Hampton Inn.

Amenities aimed at leisure and business guests include a fitness facility, business center, free hot breakfast, and a two-and-a-half story, 154-foot-long indoor waterslide dubbed the “Sheltonator.” The waterslide is the only one of its kind in the area. The Hampton Inn’s offerings include free high-speed Internet access and guestroom amenities such as refrigerators, microwaves and flat-screen TVs.

Common areas, including the lobby, embody contemporary chic and industrial flair, incorporating metal, wood and stone. In the lobby, an expansive wall mural in sepia tones feature images of local flora and fauna. Guest rooms feature signature Hampton Inn appointments along with unique furniture pieces and accents designed with the traveler in mind.

The property is located at 695 Bridgeport Ave. in Shelton, Connecticut and offers more than 1,000 square feet of meeting and event space with the latest in audio-visual equipment. The hotel is convenient to area attractions, including museums, sports and entertainment venues, as well as more than a dozen area colleges, including Yale. The hotel is just 10 miles from the Bridgeport train station and about an hour’s drive to both LaGuardia and Bradley International Airports.

“We are confident the Hampton Inn will allow this already well-positioned property to capture a commanding share of the vibrant business and leisure market in the Shelton area,” Gerry Chase, President and Chief Operating Officer of New Castle said. “Our experience with Hilton-branded properties supports our commitment to offering guests the best facilities, amenities, service and comfort.”
