April 23, 2009 (Miami, FL)
– The Regent Bal Harbour has announced the appointment of
Elizabeth Dexter as National Sales Manager. Bringing close to 15 years
experience in hospitality sales and marketing at upscale properties in Florida, Mexico,
the Caribbean and Central America, Dexter will oversee all sales
operations at the award-winning luxury beachfront hotel, including
development and implementation of innovative sales and marketing
strategies throughout North America.
The Regent Bal
Harbour made its debut
in 2008 as the first luxury hotel to debut in Bal Harbour
in more than half a century. The 124-room property is located just
minutes from the exclusive Bal Harbour Shops, and twenty minutes from
renowned South
Beach. Among
stylish attributes that have earned the hotel critical plaudits –
including a spot on Travel + Leisure’s “It List”
of the 30 Best New Hotels around the globe in 2008 – are a
multi-million dollar privately-commissioned art collection, the first
Guerlain Spa in North America, and the signature restaurant 1 Bleu,
helmed by local legend Chef Mark Militello.
“We are excited
about the possibilities that Elizabeth
brings to our sales and marketing efforts and we anticipate exceptional
results under her experienced direction,” said Patricia Bradley,
Director of Sales and Marketing at The Regent Bal Harbour.
Dexter comes to The
Regent Bal Harbour following three years as Director of International
Sales of Tropical Incentives, DMC, a destination management outfit
focused on Mexico. Dexter ran the US-based office of Tropical
Incentives in Hollywood,
Florida. While
there, she was pivotal in creating an effective team of U.S.
and Mexico-based Sales Representatives and enhancing the company’s
profile by initiating and implementing green and socially responsible
policies and practices.
Previously, Dexter
was Director of Group Sales at Fiesta Americana Hotel, a Five Diamond
property in Cancun, Mexico from 2004-2006. Before that she built an
impressive record of achievement and advancement as Director of Sales
at three Wyndham Hotel properties in Jamaica
and Florida,
including Wyndham Rose Hall (2002-2004), Wyndham Grand Bay Hotel
(2000-2002) and Wyndham Miami Biscayne Bay (1998-2000). Her big
hospitality break came as Director of Sales at Renaissance Jaragua
Hotel in the Dominican
Republic in 1994.
A native of New York, Dexter earned a Bachelor of Arts in
Spanish from Hood College in Frederick,
Maryland and a Bachelor of
Science in Hospitality Management at Florida
International University in Miami. She is fluent in English and
Spanish.
