AUSTIN, TEXAS, USA (July 11, 2008) – Designed especially for professionals looking for career advancement, the Assistant Controllers Conference is a two-day conference featuring relevant education sessions and networking opportunities that keep financial professionals current on the latest industry standards and trends. The conference provides an intimate gathering for hospitality accounting staff to learn from and network with the HFTP Executive Committee, leaders in the hospitality industry. The conference is August 24-25 at the Marriott Solana in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Register online at HFTP.org by July 25 to receive the early registration discount.

“From a speaker’s perspective, I saw the love of learning in the eyes of the audience at the 2007 Assistant Controllers Conference,” said HFTP Global Immediate Past President Agnes DeFranco, Ed.D., CHAE, professor and assistant vice president for undergraduate studies at the University of Houston and speaker at the 2007 Assistant Controllers Conference. “These folks are the next leaders in our workplace, and the next leaders of HFTP.”

The conference offers general sessions and two tracks - one for hotels and one for clubs. The general sessions include the interactive and entertaining "Ask the IT Guys" session, an HFTP association update and "Take Charge of Your Career: Hospitality Professional Designations," where attendees explore the benefits of holding a hospitality professional designation. The full schedule is currently available online.

Attendees can utilize their time with other hospitality financial professionals and the HFTP Executive Committee by networking during the Welcome Reception. Along with education sessions and networking opportunities, attendees also have the chance to advance their career through professional certification. Before the conference, HFTP offers review session and examination for the CHAE and CHTP certifications.
