Kimpton Hotels Appoints Sholeh Katherina Kia as General
Manager and Vicki Walker
as Director of Sales and Marketing for the Hotel Palomar
in Arlington, Virginia

Arlington, VA, September 11, 2007� Kimpton Hotels &
Restaurants has named Sholeh Katherina Kia general manager of the 154-room
Hotel Palomar Arlington at Waterview and Vicki Walker as director of sales
and marketing. The luxury lifestyle hotel is scheduled to open in
October 2007 in Arlington�s Rosslyn neighborhood. Kia will be responsible
for overseeing all personnel, business development and guest relations
at the new hotel. Walker will be responsible for overseeing all sales and
marketing efforts.
Sholeh Katherina Kia brings more than 19 years of hotel management experience to her new position, most recently acting as the general manager of The Hotel George on Capitol Hill for four years. Prior to that, Kia helped launch Kimpton�s first hotel on the East Coast, the Topaz Hotel, where she served as general manager from October 2001 to September 2003. Before joining Kimpton, Kia served as general manager for The Canterbury Hotel in Washington DC and the Courtyard by Marriott Washington Northwest. From 1987 to 1997, Kia held various management positions for R & A Hotels, including a position as general manager of the Holiday Inn Beachside Resort & Convention Center in Key West, Fl. Kia began her career with Marriott Hotels International in Virginia. A native of France, Kia secured her bachelor�s degree from the Beaux Arts School in Paris,, as well as a master�s degree from the prestigious University of Sorbonne, also in Paris. Kia takes an active leadership role in the community, serving as a board member for the Washington DC chapter of Dress for Success and as a team captain for the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation�s Race for the Cure. She currently resides in Lansdowne, Va. with her husband, Tom and their six-year-old dog, Sparky. Vicki
Walker brings a wealth of hospitality knowledge to her new position
with Kimpton Hotels, including twenty years of experience at premier resort
and conference centers along the East Coast. Most recently, Walker served
as the director of sales and marketing at the Boar�s Head Inn, a 4-Diamond
resort in Charlottesville, Va, from 2005 to 2007. Prior to that,
Walker launched and managed the sales and marketing efforts for the Georgia
Tech Hotel and Conference Center from 2002 to 2005. Her previous
experience includes serving as director of sales and marketing for KSL
Resorts, and in various sales management positions for Crestline Hotels
and Resorts as well as Marriott Hotels.
