Stepping through the doors of the Topaz Hotel, guests will enter a fantasy world of luminescent light and iridescent color.  Andrea Dawson of Seattle-based Dawson Design Associates borrowed touches from eastern symbolism to create the hotel�s surreal and sublime interior décor.  The Topaz Hotel is designed to engage the senses. 

An inviting orange-red glow will highlight the lobby, reception area and bar.  These three spaces are combined to form a dynamic social area for guests to enjoy.  The main entry has an exotic daybead wrapped with a multi-colored silk sheer and framed by ruby red drapes with large Moroccan tassels. In the core of the space, the Topaz Bar is accented by plush fabrics in rich colors including silks, mohair velvets and leather.  Destined to become a favorite with locals, the bar will feature creative cocktails and a light-fare menu.  Surrounding the Topaz Bar, the furniture is a mix of unusual, primitive and highly contemporary pieces set in casual groupings. 

Guestrooms will be elegantly appointed with distinctive furniture, upholstered in rich fabrics and playful patterns.  Adding to the extraordinary experience, guestrooms will feature down comforters, European linens, Aveda bath amenities and mini-bars filled with soothing bath minerals, eye pillows and compact discs. Special yoga and meditation rooms and customized amenities for women travelers will be available.  Other amenities offered will be two-line cordless speakerphones, voice mail, data port, in-room safes, make-up mirrors and 27� televisions. 

Located at number 1733 on historic N Street, NW, the Topaz Hotel is positioned between trendy Dupont Circle and DC�s downtown business district. The hotel�s interior is undergoing a complete transformation while the exterior will be upgraded and refreshed including the addition of soundproof windows and full air conditioning.
