VSi Prepaid Cards Proving Convenient
for Hoteliers as Well as Guests

SUNNYVALE, CALIF.— MAY 17, 2007 — Vertical Systems Inc. (VSi) has developed a solution for hotels looking to eliminate the hassles of multiple billing procedures, while at the same time offering their guests easy, convenient and secure access to business-center services: VSi Prepaid Cards.

A worldwide leader in guest-services technology and solutions aimed at serving the growing needs of business travelers and mobile users, Sunnyvale-based VSi introduced its Prepaid Cards as yet another tool its client hotels can offer their business guests. 

A wide variety of VSi Prepaid Cards is available to suit any business traveler’s needs—and even the needs of leisure guests traveling with children. Included in the offerings are:

  • Group Card—With a $1,000 limit per card, the hotel can assign this card to a group from a company or organization. This gives groups the benefit of not having to charge personal or corporate credit cards—group members can charge the business-center services to the VSi Group Card, and the hotel can charge the total used to the group’s master account.
  • Executive Card—This card allows hotel staff to access business-center equipment for testing and debugging for free without having to use their own credit card and later calling VSi for reimbursement.
  • Custom Card—The Custom Card, complete with hotel name and logo, is used for repeat hotel guests and groups, such as airline crews, frequent business travelers, corporate groups and so forth. VSi can provide the hotel with Custom Cards for each group, and tracks usage and provides billing information to the hotel on a monthly basis. The Custom Card also can by used by hotels to provide these valued repeat guests complimentary access to business-center services, thereby increasing guest satisfaction and enhancing the chances these groups will continue to use the hotel.
  • Value Pass—Comes in $10, $20, $50 and $100 denominations for individual guest use. In addition to being ideal for individual business guests, parents traveling with children can purchase the Value Pass Prepaid Card to limit their children’s use of the Internet or other services.
“This is an especially attractive product for hotels because there is no upfront cost to acquire our Prepaid Cards,” said VSi Marketing Manager Shaukat Anjarwala. “We ship the Prepaid Card Kit, which contains a Prepaid Card Introduction, FAQs, Order Form and a set of prepaid cards, to the hotel at no charge. The hotel is billed only when the cards are used.”

The Hyatt Regency Embarcadero is one business hotel that’s reaped the benefits of VSi’s Prepaid Card program—just ask Bernardo Lebron, Business Center Manager for Presentation Services at the 720-room luxury property, located in San Francisco’s financial district.

“We’ve been using the VSi Prepaid Cards for about two years, and guests tell us they like the cards because they can have all their charges on one full bill, which eases the reimbursement process for them,” Lebron says. “But most important, I think, is the fact that our guests can come down and use the Business Center without having to use their credit card—all the billing is done on the VSi Prepaid Card, so the guests have an extra feeling of security.”

And from the perspective of Lebron and the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero Business Center, there’s a bonus to working with VSi as a vendor.
